Aaron’s Bicycle Repair will redrill your Rohloff hub so you can lace up a 48 hole rear wheel.  The service is low cost @ $50USD incl shipping back.  Rohloff hubs only come in 32 hole drillings from the factory.

Keeping in mind that a 32H non-dished Rohloff wheel is stronger than a 48H dished wheel I’m not really sure how necessary this is.  I’ve had 300lbs+ off cargo on my Big Dummy as well as my 165lbs with zero issues.

This will of course void your warranty!

Terrifying! Though I think this is popular with tandem touring folks…

If you wonder where they got the idea, check out this link http://www.vittorio.nl/rohloffnaaf It’s written in dutch, but if you see the pictures, you’ll see what I mean.
It might be a good solution for a Big Dummy.

Keep in mind, this is not about strength, it is about durability.
Also, the only Rholoff flanges that have failed are on tandems. Cargo bikes are akin to tandems especially if you use a Stoke Monkey! A 48 spoke Rohloff is indeed stronger but that is not the point. You don’t want to break a spoke! 32 spokes are strong but more spokes are always stronger because it is the spoke tension that gives a wheel most of its strength. Even so, the point is durability.
We have seen no problems doing this. Also a new hub shell is only $200.
