Many here in the US might move to Canada. As I heard on the PBS Newshour tonight, one of the guests made the very comment as to the Police respondence to the demonstrations taking place in the big cities across the US.

Since 9/11, we have slowly lost our freedoms. Now it’s the economy and the politics in Washington. The jobs continue to go off-shore, as you saw in the Seattle harbor during your recent visit.

Since 9/11 we have also lost common sense and the ability to distinguish between good people and those who would do harm and are fast losing the ability to treat everyone as decent human beings.

I think the Arab Spring has demonstrated that the power of social media can be a challenge to a political system that doesn’t address the interests of the majority of its citizens. We live in interesting times!
